I’ve been a professional writer and author for more than 30 years. Credits include God Sleeps in Rwanda (Atria, 2009), a memoir about the Rwanda genocide and its aftermath that I coauthored with Joseph Sebarenzi and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, and the cover story for the Washington Post magazine about what happens to thoroughbreds after they retire from racing.
Additionally, I spent many years working in corporate communications and public affairs, including as a spokesperson, specializing in thought leadership, op-eds, and crisis management.
I live in northern New Mexico with my husband, two dogs, two horses and one barn cat. I’m also mother to two adult children, Noah and Gwyneth.
